Bridging the Digital Gender Gap in Ocean Science
Although women and non-binary persons are under-represented in ocean sciences, their accomplishments are even less represented, in both print media and online. Volunteers were gathered to help bridge this digital gender gap.
We had 38 participants from 15 countries (and all populated continents!) Together they created and edited articles, added over 2400 words, and added 27 references.
This event was a partnership between Ingenium, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, and the Marine Technology Society.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the Canadian Commission for UNESCO and Ingenium are marking the Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development by celebrating the contributions of women and those who identify as non-binary in STEM.
